"Breast cancer has touched far too many people by chance, but it's by choice that you can fight it. For 60 inspirational miles, the Breast Cancer 3-Day is powered by you. Your concern, your spirit. Your determination to ignore obstacles and ignite hope. To make a tangible difference in the quality of lives - and the length of lifetimes."Susan G. Komen for the Cure 3-Day Walk

This is my journal that will track my journey leading up to the 3-Day SIXTY-mile walk. Why walk 20 miles for three days straight when I don't have to? I'm doing it for me, for you, for everyone around me that can't. I'm bringing awareness to friends, family, co-workers, and every walk of life that we all have the ability to fight for a cause. We all can achieve the unthinkable if we put our mind to it. Just watch me. Mile for mile I will prove to myself and everyone around that you can do such amazing things if you believe.

Things are looking good!

Well, good news - my good friends Tom and Michelle will be giving me their donation of $90 sometime in the next week or so so I can register for the walk. I'm more than grateful for their generosity and couldn't have gotten started without them! Now that I know I'll be registered soon I started on ideas for the PSA I will be making to hand out to businesses to ask for donations. Here's the status of everything right now:

- I need pictures of women that show spirit and the love within. I think pictures of any woman will do. Pictures of Mothers with their kids, sisters, daughters, college girls, teenage girls. Anyone! Because the spirit of a woman comes in different forms.

- I also needs pictures of peoples' feet. Barefoot, sneakers, flip flops, high-heels, I don't care. They will be used to show "where have your feet taken you?" I want to include a narrative about how our feet can carry us through anything - the good and bad times.

So, how am I going to get all of these pictures together - I mean, I'm only one person, right? I plan on enlisting the aid of my classmates in school. I go to an art school- the creativity is immeasurable and overflowing in that environment. I can't wait to email them and start receiving some pretty cool interpretations of the photos I need. Yep, that's right, I'm networking and utilizing every person I've come in contact with. I'm REALLY excited about getting these pictures back and can't wait to start. In fact, I took the opportunity today to take a picture or two of my feet in the great rain that's been pouring for the last two days.

Things are looking good, so here's to receiving some pretty awesome pictures for the PSA!!
